Bluebells

Bluebells
Bluebells in the Easter sunshine.  They have naturalised under the variegated Weigela and are a great splash of colour in the front yard. They grow in the gravel there and seem to be very happy despite being a
woodland plant.

Peace Restored

the new greenhouse
The 60 year old cedar greenhouse suffered badly over the Winter months, firstly the weight of snow broke many panes of glass and then some weeks later a storm came and took out more panes! It was patched together with corrugated iron and timber and looked a sight so a decision had to be reached – buy a new one or repair the old one. Cost took care of the first option and so with the support of friends we managed to restore it.

Spring Has Sprung!

20110225-25022011448-500xIt was a harsh winter but at last the spring is here. The garden at Knockrose is having a complete overhaul. Five trees have been taken out, the pond has been rebuilt, and new trellis and arches have been put in place for the new seasons growth. The old greenhouse took a battering by the last gale-force winds we had, so each pane of glass had to be carefully removed before attending to the structural repairs. It is a great start to the year and we hope to show you the progress of events which will culminate in an abundance of beauty as Knockrose Garden wakes up from a long winter’s sleep.
